Survey: A flexible job prevents costly staff fluctuation

Bratislava 19th January 2014 (TASR) – Slovak Businessmen are finding out, that a flexible work is often the decisive factor in accepting or rejecting a job offer. Up to 78 % respondents confirm that in two similar job occupations, they would choose the one, with the possibility of a flexible job. This results from a survey conducted by the company Regus.

“Hiring and retaining top talents is the at most priority of successful businesses, but not all companies can afford huge bonuses and generous salaries to remain competitive. Eliminating fluctuation is very important, to avoid costs on personal agencies and problems associated with the start of the recruitment process” according to Ruud Doggen CEO for Central and Eastern Europe of Regus. The estimated cost for an leaving employee represent £ 4625 ( 5,598 € ), while in cases of managers and specialists the costs can increase up to £ 5,000 (6,051 € ).

“A flexible job, which is more cost-effective than standard work in the office, offers attractive benefits in terms of less stress and better balance between work and personal life as for existing as well as for perspective employees. It also offers and inexpensive way, how to attract and retain top employees” stated Doggen.

According to the survey, 74 % respondents claim, that employees, who are given the opportunity of flexible working are more loyal, 58 % of the employees would refuse a job offer, that excludes  flexible working and 54 % of the respondents stated, that they would remain on their former position, if they had the opportunity of a flexible job.
